Mark Armstrong

Managing Director

What is your work background?
I joined the Army as a boy soldier and served 9 years in the Queens Own Highlanders before joining a large construction company and worked my way up from Labourer to Utility Manager over a 16 year period.

What do you do at MA Ventures?
In my role as Managing Director I oversee all aspects of the business whilst also monitoring Health & Safety.

What do you enjoy most about your role at MA Ventures?
I enjoy dealing with people and problem solving, which is the backbone of the business – giving our customers cost effective solutions and a quality service.

What can we find you doing when you are not at work?
I enjoy golfing and spend a lot of time trying to improve my handicap!

Suzanne INNES

Commercial Manager

What is your work background?
I have been with the company since inception. Prior to working with MA Ventures I spent 8 years working on various projects within the financial and utility Industries in the central belt, and two years working on a large project for an Insurance company in the Middle East.
Originally from Invergordon, I returned to the area at the end of 2011 and began working for the civil engineering department of MS Industrial Services, which became MA Ventures in January 2013.

What do you do at MA Ventures?

I have a very varied role within MA Ventures. When I first started working for the company it was mainly an administration role but over the years I have become involved in all aspects of the business and now cover accounts, compliance, tendering, Health and Safety, while also managing all of the office activities.

What do you enjoy most about your role at MA Ventures?
I love the fact that every day is different which provides a great learning platform. As a small business, I also get the pleasure of dealing with our customers on a one to one basis, ascertaining needs and building great working relationships.

What can we find you doing when you are not at work?
I spend my free time with family and friends. When time permits I enjoy eating out and love sampling the fantastic restaurants that the Highlands have to offer

Eilidh Mackay

Administrator

What is your work background?
Prior to joining MA Ventures in November 2014, I worked for Northern Constabulary for 10.5 years in a Police Support Staff role in both Alness & Inverness Control Room. I also worked in the Oil &Gas sector.

What do you do at MA Ventures?
In my Administrator role at Ventures, I would describe it as a very varied role. I am responsible for our Tarring Reinstatement contract which involves planning the works in, raising Purchase Orders and producing paperwork to billing out the contract each month. I deal with mail and telephone enquiries, preparing and running payroll each week and ensuring our plant/vehicle maintenance records are up to date.

What do you enjoy most about your role at MA Ventures?
I very much enjoy the variety of working in a small office team at MA Ventures. Due to their only being three of us in the office, it’s very much all hands on deck. Although I have designated roles, I am also able to step into assist in other areas. This has enabled me to learn several new skills in my day to day working which I wouldn’t have learned without going for specific training.

What can we find you doing when you are not at work?
Out-with work, I can be found with my partner & little girl socialising with family and friends. I also enjoy actively keeping fit.

Gemma Armstrong

Administrator

What is your work background?
I came to work at MA Ventures when I left school in 2013. I have since completed my Modern Apprenticeship in Business Administration and upon returning from maternity leave, I now work on a part time basis.

What do you do at MA Ventures?
I help with the day to day running of the office.

What do you enjoy most about your role at MA Ventures?
As we are a small team I enjoy the variety of jobs – every day is different!

What can we find you doing when you are not at work?
When I’m not at work, I enjoy making memories with my little girl Orla – we love going on holiday to the sun!
